Our History
DOM St. Philip Primary Day & Boarding and Junior School Giaki has a rich history of growth, resilience, and dedication to academic and spiritual excellence. Below is an overview of our journey:
When Ambition Meets Opportunity.
2010: The Beginning
- Founded on 4th January 2010 with 88 students and 3 permanent classrooms.
- Staff included 3 teachers and 4 support staff.
- A semi-permanent kitchen was built, setting the foundation for growth.
2011 - 2014: Expanding Horizons
- Annual construction of one classroom to accommodate growth.
- In 2014, with support from Sister Gemma and Messi Group, 8 additional classrooms were built.
- Recreational areas and 16 girls' latrines were introduced to enhance the school environment.
2013: Boarding Program Initiation
- Constructed dormitories for boys and girls, paving the way for the mixed boarding program.
- Warm showers introduced for boarders' comfort.
2015 - 2017: Enhancing Infrastructure
- Beautified the campus with pavements, flowers, and better drainage.
- Built a multi-purpose hall for school events.
- Established a computer lab and library in 2016.
- Acquired a school bus in 2017 for transportation needs.
2022 - 2023: Junior School Development
- Added classrooms, a Science Lab, and a Home Science Lab to support the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
- Equipped the labs to foster hands-on learning and essential life skills training.
Present Day
Today, we proudly serve 394 students, including 170 boarders, supported by a team of 14 teachers and 10 staff members. As we continue to grow, our mission remains to nurture lifelong learners and future leaders.
